Indian Independence 24-Hour Interval Special: Tricolor Rice Platter



Today is Indian Independence Day. It is inwards fact the 68 th Independence Day. It has been 68 years since Republic of Republic of India became costless from the British. My Tricolor Rice Platter comprises of Carrot Pulao for the Saffron band, Jeera Rice for the white band as well as Palak Pulao( Spinach Rice) for the greenish band. Carrot Pulao ( Carrot Rice)


Servings: 4


Ingredients:


Basmati rice: 1 cup
Grated carrots: 1 loving cup ( from 1 large carrot)
Jeera( cumin seeds): 1 tsp
Onion: 1 medium, chopped fine
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
Green chillies: 2, chopped fine
Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder: 1 tsp
Coconut oil: ii tbsp
Lemon juice: from 1 pocket-size lemon
Freshly grated coconut: 1 tbsp ( optional for garnishing)
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp chopped fine ( for garnishing)
Water: ii cups
Salt: every bit per taste.

Method:


Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly until all the starch is removed. Soak basmati rice inwards H2O for xxx mins. Drain the H2O as well as permit it dry out for 20-30 minutes.

Heat fossil oil inwards a kadai/ sauté pan. Add 1 tsp jeera as well as the onions. Sauté until the onions plough transparent.

Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped greenish chillies as well as sauté for few seconds. Now add together the turmeric pulverization as well as garam masala powder.

Add the rice as well as sauté for 2-4 minutes. Add the grated carrots, sauté for a minute. Add inwards the hot water, common salt as well as select it to a boil. Cover, cut down the open fire to depression as well as produce for fifteen minutes. 

When done, fluff amongst a fork/ spoon. Add inwards the lemon juice, mix well.

Garnish amongst freshly grated kokosnoot as well as chopped cilantro leaves.

Jeera Rice ( Cumin rice)


Servings: 2-3


Ingredients:


Basmati Rice: 1 cup
Water: ii cups
Clarified butter( ghee): 1 tbsp( y'all could piece of employment regular cooking fossil oil if y'all don't accept ghee)
Jeera ( cumin seeds): 3/4 tsp
Cinnamon stick: 1 inch
Bay leaf: 1 small
Cashew halves: 1 tsp( optional)
Salt: to taste.

Method:

Heat ghee inwards a sauté pan/ pot on depression heat. Add the jeera( cumin) as well as cinnamon stick as well as sauté for few seconds. Add the cashew halves as well as saute until slightly golden.

Now add together inwards the washed as well as dried rice as well as sauté for 2-3 minutes. Now add together ii cups of hot water, common salt as well as select it to a boil. Reduce the open fire to the lowest possible, comprehend as well as produce for fifteen minutes.

Palak Pulao ( Spinach Rice)



Servings: 4


Ingredients:


Cooked rice: ii cups
Spinach purée: 1 cup
Ghee( clarified butter): 1 tsp
Onion: 1 medium, chopped fine
Green chillies: 2, chopped fine
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
Garam masala: 1 tsp
Sugar: 1/4 tsp
Salt: to taste
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp( from 1 pocket-size lemon)
Chopped Ciilantro: 1 tbsp( for garnishing).

Method:


In a sauté pan/ kadai, rut 1tsp ghee. Add the ginger garlic glue as well as onions as well as sauté until the onions plough transparent. 

Add the chopped greenish chillies, garam masala, spinach purée, salt, saccharide as well as produce for 5-6 mins. 

Add inwards the rice as well as mix well.  Cook for 1-2 mins. 

Now add together the lemon juice.

Garnish amongst freshly chopped cilantro.



Serve hot.
