Vermicelli Pilaf/Pulao/Upma

Today, for Fiesta Friday, I am bringing to a greater extent than or less other of my unproblematic dishes: Vermicilli Pilaf!Everyone inwards my dwelling from my fiddling ones to my parents similar vermicelli. I similar it also .. Mainly for the repose of cooking. It is amazing how many things 1 tin brand amongst vermicelli! Vermicelli upma, vermicelli Payasam, vermicelli pulao. I similar to squall to vermicelli cooked amongst vegetables every bit vermicelli pulao or pilaf. It is a perfect repast detail endure it breakfast, luncheon or dinner. Servings: 4-6


Ingredients:


Vermicelli: 8 oz or 125 gms
Water : iv cups
Cooking oil: 1 tbsp
Onion: 1 small, chopped.
mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves: 1 sprig.
urad dal ( separate matpe bean): 1 tsp ( optional)
Chana dal ( separate chick peas): 1 tsp ( optional)
Peanut halves: 1 tbsp ( optional)
Mixed vegetables: 1 loving cup ( I used peas, carrots together with dark-green beans).
Green chillies: two small, slit
Haldi( turmeric powder): 1/2 tsp
Salt : to taste
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp ( from 1/2 lemon).
Cilantro :1 tbsp, chopped.


Method:


Boil H2O amongst a fiddling common salt inwards a saucepan.Turn off the gas.Add the vermicelli  to the hot water, encompass together with proceed for 3-4 mins. Drain the H2O using a colander together with proceed the vermicelli aside.




Heat 1 tbsp crude inwards a sauté pan.Add mustard seeds. Once they spultter, add together curry leaves, chana dal together with urad dal , peanut halves together with saute for 10 seconds. Add onions together with sauté for a few seconds until the onions plough transparent. Now add together dark-green chillies together with turmeric pulverization together with sauté for 10 seconds.



Add the cooked mixed vegetables together with mix well. Add fiddling fleck of salt.




Now add together the drained vermicelli to this vegetable mixture. Mix together with rut it until the vermicelli is warm. Squeeze lemon juice.


Garnish amongst freshly chopped cilantro.



Serve hot.

Cooking made easy:


Vermicelli should never endure overcooked. Just soaking it inwards hot H2O for few minutes gets the chore done. If you lot fright that it is overdone, run mutual coldness H2O on it to destination it from continuing to cook.
