Lasuni Chilkewala Masoor Palak ( Garlic Flavored Orangish Lentil As Well As Spinach Stew ) ; Meatless Monday



Last Th eve I was running several errands. Well, nearly evenings I select errands to run, but this item day was to a greater extent than hectic than the others. The argue for this was that I had to attend the PTA coming together but earlier an lx minutes earlier that, I had to meet-up amongst the out-going treasurer for transfer of information. The traditional dal-palak ( lentil-spinach) stew/soup is made using dissever dove peas. I decided to combine whole orangish lentil together with spinach together with brand the stew but inwards a quick fashion. I washed, chopped together with cooked the spinach along amongst 1 chopped Lycopersicon esculentum & 1 onion. I added the cooked lentils to the spinach amongst some tabular array salt together with asofoetida. I together with thus tempered this mixture amongst sautéed garlic, ruddy chilli together with garam masala powder. Delicious chili Garlic spinach-lentil stew was ready! My hubby went for seconds!!

Ingredients
:


Whole orangish lentil: 1/2 cup
Water: 1 & 1/2 cups + 1/2 cup
Green chillies: 1,slit( tin live on adjusted every bit per private spice preference)
Spinach: 1 & 1/2cups, chopped
Onion: 1, small, chopped
Tomato: 1 small, chopped
Garlic: 5-6 cloves, chopped fine
Coconut oil: 1 tsp ( whatever cooking crude tin live on used).
Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp ( tin live on adjusted every bit per private spice preference.
Asofoetida: a pinch if using powder, 1/4 tsp if using solution.
Garam masala: 1/4 tsp ( optional)
Salt: every bit per taste.

Method:


Rinse the whole orangish lentil  together with add together it to a pot amongst 1 together with 1/2 cups water. 
Cook until tender ( to a greater extent than or less 20 minutes on stove-top, 10 minutes if cooked inwards pressure level cooker). Turn off the flaming together with locomote on aside.

Separately railroad train the spinach amongst 1/2 loving cup water, chopped onion, Lycopersicon esculentum together with tabular array salt for 6-8 minutes. Turn off the flame. 

Add the cooked lentils together with Asofoetida to this together with mix well.

In a minor frying pan/sauté pan or kadai, oestrus kokosnoot crude on medium heat. 
Add the chopped garlic cloves. Sauté until garlic is fragrant. 
Add the chilli pulverization together with garam masala powder. Turn off the flame( live on careful non to laissez passer the sack the chilli powder)!! 

Add this to the lentils. 

Serve hot amongst rice/roti/bread.
