Kele Phodi ( Pan-Fried Sweetness Plantain); Iii Ways! Meatless Mondays!

They are commonly eaten every bit a snack alongside a loving cup of tea but may live on also served every bit a side alongside a meal.

Ingredients:

Ripe plantains: 2

Rice flour: 2 tbsp

For the sooji rava version: all of the inward a higher house +
Water: 2 tbsp
Cream of wheat/sooji rava or/cornmeal: 1/4 cup

Method:

Peel the plantain. Slice them horizontally into 3 equal pieces.

Now vertically spell each private spell into 3-4 slices depending on your desired degree of thickness in addition to the thickness of the plantain. You don't wish the slices to live on likewise thin.

For the plainly fried plantains:

Dip the cutting plantain slices into this mixture.




Heat the skillet/tawa on medium heat. Grease it using kokosnoot oil.Once the skillet is hot, house the plantain slices on it. 

Cook on depression open fire until lightly golden brown( roughly 3-4 minutes on each side).




Serve hot.




For the sooji rawa coated fried plantains:




In a shallow bowl/ plate, mix together rice flour, salt, cherry-red chilli pulverization in addition to H2O to brand a paste.



Smear this glue on both sides of the plantain slices.

Take the sooji rava/ cornmeal inward a plate.

Roll the batter-coated plantain slices into this mixture in addition to then that it is coated alongside rawa/ cornmeal.




Heat the skillet/tawa on medium heat. Grease it using kokosnoot oil.Once the skillet is hot, house the plantain slices on it inward a unmarried layer.

Serve hot.
