Masala Oats (Savory Oatmeal)



Oatmeal is non something that was traditionally a purpose of the Indian cuisine. From what I squall upwards of my childhood, exclusively sure enough catholic families made it, that also for their ill menage unit of measurement members. I in 1 lawsuit tasted it together with didn't similar it at all!! The agency it was made is yesteryear cooking it inward H2O amongst a pinch of salt! How bland is that?? But now,  oatmeal amongst fruits together with nuts  is what my married adult man & I select for breakfast on weekdays! How ironic! It has industrial plant life it's presence inward the Indian marketplace too. People select it many unlike ways but the virtually mutual is the savory version of it. Saffola a build markets pre- packaged savory oats, known every bit Masala Oats, which tin endure ready inward only iii minutes. During my concluding catch to India, I had picked upwards a pack out of curiosity. It was lying approximately inward my pantry. One day, I made it for my married adult man for breakfast out of desperation. I didn't select anything else to hand him! The funny part, he loved it!! He wanted me to teach inward to a greater extent than often! I tasted it together with industrial plant life it similar inward gustation to Maggie 2-minute noodles. Because my married adult man liked it then much, I tried to imitate it. The result: at in 1 lawsuit I select to teach inward daily for him for breakfast.

Ingredients:


Water: 1/2 cup
Instant oats ( plain, non amongst sugar): four tbsp
Mixed vegetables: ii tbsp ( I used a frozen mix of peas, carrots, beans together with corn.
Turmeric powder: a pinch
Salt: a pinch
Garam masala/ curry powder: a pinch

Method :


Add H2O & vegetables to a pot together with convey it to a boil. Now, add together all the remaining  ingredients listed, stir, trim the open fire together with gear upwards for ii mins. Cover together with proceed until ready to serve.




Serve hot.

Cooking made easy:


If you lot don't select frozen veggies, you lot tin used vegetables that select already been cooked. In which case, you lot tin add together all the ingredients to the pot at the same fourth dimension together with gear upwards for iii mins.
