Curried Mash Lentil Barley Soup; Meatless Monday

Turnip cubes: 1 cup
Water: two liters
Ginger: 1 inch piece
Cumin powder: 1 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tsp
Red chilli powder: 1/4 tsp
Black pepper: 1/4 tsp, freshly ground.
Turmeric powder: 1/4 tsp
Bay leaf: 1
Garam masala powder: 1/8 tsp ( optional).
Coconut oil: 1 tsp
Salt: to taste
Jaggery: 1/2 tsp ( chocolate-brown sugar/ saccharide tin live on used instead).


Method:


Cook barley inwards four cups of H2O until tender, around xx mins. When the barley is cooking, prep the remaining ingredients.

Boil two liters of H2O inwards a pot. 


To this add together the washed lentils, ginger as well as create for xv mins. Remove the scum that accumulates on the surface. 

Now add together the  cooked barley, squashes, turnips, bay leaf, turmeric, cumin as well as coriander powder, dark pepper, jaggery as well as salt. Cook until tender, around xxx mins. 

Add to a greater extent than H2O if you lot honour the soup thick.

Heat 1 tsp kokosnoot stone oil on medium heat. Add the curry pulverization as well as scarlet chilli powder. Turn off the stove. Add this to the pot.
